Advance Exchange Program

This program is an unprecedented first in this industry. There is nothing more frustrating in the field than dealing with an issue and having to return it for warranty. You want to get it fixed fast. Many times, you need to send your item back before a replacement unit is issued even when it’s under warranty. If you're dealing with a bulb, this can mean an empty hole or socket while the original is sent in for exchange. This itself can cause other issues such as moisture leaks. We don't want that to happen so we offer an Advance Exchange Program. We'll send you what you require, then you send the defective item back. Read on to see how this works!

At our discretion you can request replacements in advance at 75% of listed “Retail Price” (specials and closeouts not applicable). If replacements are made in advance HID Canada will invoice you prior to shipment and refund the purchase price after the units have been accepted as a warranty. If the units are not accepted as a warranty the returned product will be returned to you and the charges will remain.

"Out-of-Warranty" Care Program

Advance Exchange is only the tip of the iceberg. A warranty is great until it runs out. While we can't predict if a product may fail, we can work with you to defray the costs of replacement.

If your HID Canada product fails out-of-warranty, you may be eligible to a credit of up to 35% of a current comparable replacement product. For example, if a discontinued CSX CANBUS ballast fails after the warranty period, you may be eligible for up to 35% off the latest generation RSX CANBUS ballast. The "Out-of-Warranty" Care Program process is easy. Submit a ticket to with the subject of "Out-of-Warranty Care". You will need a copy of your original invoice along with a photo of the failed product. Our Returns & Warranty Department will respond promptly and we may request additional photos and/or return of the original product at our discretion.

Warranty Process

To ensure proper processing of your warranty, please keep your order number/invoice and serial number of the items (sticker or engraved) on record during the item(s) warranty period.

The warranty covers any factory defects that cause the bulbs and or ballasts to fail to operate. The warranty does not cover improper installation and misuse such as, but not limited to: water damage, breakage, fire, chemical spillage, acts of nature, misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification, improper installation, submersion, vehicle crashes, dropping or other impact. HID bulbs are Xenon gas-charged and therefore must not come into contact with human skin. Please do not touch the bulb itself as the oils on your skin may weaken the bulb and void your warranty.

All returned parts for warranty will be inspected to verify operational defect. If the non-operational part is found to be defective as a result of improper use and/or installation then the warranty may be considered to be void. Shipping charges are not covered by this warranty. The buyer will be responsible for shipping the defective parts for warranty claims.

If your item was dead on arrival (D.O.A.) and is returned to us (postmarked) within 7 days of the date it was delivered to you then we will ship the part back to you free of charge.

Instructions for filing a warranty claim:
Please read carefully. If the instructions are not followed, your warranty claim may be delayed in processing.

IMPORTANT: Please only send back the part you need replaced for warranty (for example if your ballast is not working please send ONLY the ballast). Do not send back mounting hardware or brackets.

The following information must be included:

1. Your full name and return shipping address
2. A copy of your order invoice or order number
3. The bulb size and color temperature of the item you originally ordered (if applicable)
